In the all the 10 editions of IPL, it has been ensured that the chief mentors or coaches of different teams get satisfied with their revenue. In the maiden season of IPL in 2008, the average salary of a coach was around Rs 40 lakh, which has seen consistent growth in 10 years.
Former Indian skipper and coach of the Delhi Daredevils team Rahul Dravid has probably the highest-paid coaching job in the IPL, making, as per approximations, INR 4.5 crore per year.
According to the sources, former Mumbai Indians coach and ex-Australia skipper Ricky Ponting also got the similar amount two years ago when he was Mumbai's coach. Talking about some other players like Daniel Vettori (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and Jacques Kallis (Kolkata Knight Riders) are making somewhere around INR 3.5 crore per year. Virender Sehwag (Kings XI Punjab), Mahela Jayawardene (Mumbai Indians), Tom Moody (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Stephen Fleming (Pune Rising Supergiant) are counting the sum of around INR 2.3 to 3-crore.
One of the sources of TOI said, "Fleming is paid around Rs 2.5 crore while Mahela and Moody too fall in the same bracket. Viru could be paid a little more because he was paid around Rs 3 crore during his playing days."

However, Tendulkar only helps his team when they are playing at home and doesn't travel with the team. It was learned that Gujarat Lions' coach Brad Hodge was the lowest-paid coach in IPL-10, making around Rs 70 lakh. The sources said, "No coach in IPL has broken the million-dollar barrier, but it could just be a matter of time."
If the sources are to be believed then, India national coach Anil Kumble could become one of the highest-paid coaches in the world if BCCI agrees to his demand for a salary raise. Sources said, "If Kumble gets his wish, his salary would reach the Rs 8-crore bracket."
