After a successful stint commentary box for a week , Kevin Pietersen is heading back home
to spend quality time with family. The 36-year old is now heading home as per
schedule but he will be seen commentating again during the last two weeks of
the tournament. Pietersen had earlier mentioned that he will be a part of the
commentating team for week one, week four and the finals only. He had a
jam-packed schedule as he participated in the CSA T20 Challenge, a domestic T20
tournament in South Africa, in December and the Big Bash League in January
followed by the Pakistan Super League in February.
Pietersen's commentating stint was highly successful as he
was seen making friendly jibes at the cricketers especially during the on-field
microphone chats with the players. He tried to troll MS Dhoni by saying that he
is a better golfer than him but received a witty reply by the former skipper as
he pointed out that KP is still his first Test wicket.
Pietersen's witty and humorous commentary was great for the
viewers. Too bad that he couldn't play the tournament which he had repeatedly
mentioned he loves. Pietersen played just 4 games for Rising Pune Supergiant
last season as his campaign ended prematurely due to an injury.
He confirmed this news on this official twitter handle.
That was my last commentary stint for a few weeks...I thoroughly enjoyed it! Super production team & fellow comms! See you all soon!
