South African star batsman and former Kings Eleven Punjab captain David Miller said that Virender Sehwag, who is the director of cricket operations for KXIP, leads his life like the way he played.

Sehwag played all three formats of the game in the same belligerent fashion. After retiring from international cricket, he has been entertaining off the field too.

Miller believes that KXIP will do better in this season of the cash-rich T20 league, under the captaincy of Glenn Maxwell and guidance of Virender Sehwag.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, former KXIP skipper miller said that the IPL has got a lot more exciting from the time it started. He also said that it has been a great journey for this league as well as it has regularly featured top players and is bound to grow.

As we all know that Kings XI Punjab had a poor season in 2016, but Miller hopes that this season will be better as compare to last season.

When asked how you look at the team's chances this season, He replied, "As a cricketer, one always needs to learn from the mistake. We had a bad 2016 and lost most of the matches but this is a new season. Personally, for me, the last seven to eight months have been great. I am looking forward to this season. There is not much change in the way I play but hopefully, the results will be better."

Miller said that the frequent changes in captaincy created the problem for players, as the KXIP captaincy has changed hands several times, but the core group has stayed same for the last couple of years.

He further added, "Yes, last season saw me and Vijay as captain and this time it is Glenn Maxwell. Personally, I would be a lot more free without the captaincy. We will always give our opinion to Maxwell. He is a senior cricketer and would lead the team well. He is a wonderful a wonderful person to work with. We have some exciting T20 players and hopefully, our combination would work."

A few days ago, Virender Sehwag had said that he wants KXIP to play aggressive and fearless cricket this season.

David Miller reveals the Sehwag's game-plan, "He has told us to enjoy the game and look past last season's failure. We have been interacting a lot. There is a lot of positive vibes when he is around."

Virender Sehwag is known for his explosive and entertaining batting on the field during his playing days, and there is nobody, who thinks that Sehwag can be strict with his approach. It may also be that some people think that Sehwag is strict but Miller has an answer to this.

When asked is Sehwag strict in his role, Miller said, "He is never strict. He leads his life like the way he played. Whatever he thinks he puts it on the table in a straightforward way. That's the biggest thing to learn from him. Win or lose, one should always keep his spirits high."
