IND v WI 2022: Cricket fraternity reacts as Suryakumar Yadav-Venkatesh Iyer cause carnage to take India to 184/5

India leads series 2-0 and Avesh Khan made his T20I debut for India.

Suryakumar Yadav slammed his 4th T20I fifty | BCCIIndian batter Suryakumar Yadav, assisted by Venkatesh Iyer, gave a clinic on how to finish an innings as they took apart the West Indies bowling attack in the third and final T20I of the series in Kolkata on February 20, 2022.

West Indies bowled first after winning the toss and both sides made four changes. India gave a debut to Avesh Khan, while Ruturaj Gaikwad got his first game of the series. West Indies bought in Hayden Walsh Jr, Fabien Allen, and Shai Hope amongst other changes.

Though Ruturaj Gaikwad fell for 4 runs, Ishan Kishan (34 with 5 fours) and Shreyas Iyer (25 with 4 fours) laid a good platform for the finishers to do their job. Rohit Sharma batted at 4 but failed, making only 7 runs.

At 93/4 in 14 overs, India was looking at a score of around 160 at the most. But Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer had other plans as they caused mayhem in the last five overs or so. The duo added 91 runs in just 37 deliveries together and 42 of those came in just two overs.

Romario Shepherd went for 50 runs in his 4 overs for one wicket, while Dominic Drakes have 37 runs in his 3 for one wicket.
