Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant | GettyVeteran batter Virat Kohli has been given a 10-day break from the Indian team’s bio-bubble and he won’t feature in the third T20I against West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday (February 20), PTI reported.

Apart from Kohli, the BCCI has also given wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant a respite from the bubble life and he too won’t be available for the third T20I versus West Indies and the upcoming three-T20I series against Sri Lanka.

According to the report, Kohli won’t be playing the Sri Lanka T20I series as well.

“Yes, Kohli has left home on Saturday morning as India have already won the series. As it has been decided by BCCI, it will be a policy to give all the regular all format players periodic breaks from the bubble to ensure that their workload management and mental health is taken care of,” a senior BCCI official privy to the development told PTI on the condition of anonymity.

The Indian team for the Sri Lanka series will be picked later in the day.

The three-T20I series between India and Sri Lanka will run from February 24 to February 27 and the matches will be held in Lucknow and Dharamsala.
