IND v WI 2022: Cricket fraternity reacts as Prasidh Krishna’s 4-fer gives India a series-clinching win in 2nd ODI

Prasidh Krishna starred with the ball for India | BCCITeam India continued their domination over West Indies in the ongoing ODI series as they claimed a series-clinching 2-0 lead with a 44-run victory in the second ODI at Ahmedabad on Wednesday (February 9).

Invited to bat first, the hosts posted a modest 237/9 in their stipulated 50 overs. Suryakumar Yadav was the top scorer with the willow, scoring 64 off 83 balls while KL Rahul chipped in with a handy 48-ball 49.

Alzarri Joseph (2-36) and Odean Smith (2-29) starred with the ball for West Indies, picking up two wickets each.

Chasing the modest target, West Indies’ innings folded for a paltry 193 in 46 overs. It was a listless performance from the visitors as no one except for Shamarh Brooks (44) managed to touch the 40-run mark.

For India, pacer Prasidh Krishna was the stand-out bowler, returning with the phenomenal figures of 4/12 in his 9 overs. All-rounder Shardul Thakur also scalped a couple of wickets by conceding 41 runs in his 9 overs.

For their stellar showing with the ball, Indian bowlers garnered rich praise from the cricket fraternity on Twitter.
