IND v WI 2022: WATCH - "Back in my comfort zone" Shikhar Dhawan bats at the nets after recovering from COVID-19

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was back at the nets with his teammates on the eve of the second ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad. Dhawan tested negative for COVID-19 and was allowed to return to training along with Shreyas Iyer, who also completely recovered from the virus.

The duo is unlikely to be seen in action in the second ODI on Wednesday (February 9), but shall be in contention for the final match of the series which will be played on Friday.

36-year-old Dhawan had tested positive for COVID-19 on January 31st and was in isolation since then. Taking to Instagram, Dhawan wrote, "Feels amazing to be back in my comfort zone and loving the sound of the bat" and shared a clip from his first practice session in Ahmedabad.

Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad still remains in isolation after his positive result on February 1. Reserve seamer Navdeep Saini joined the squad yesterday after completing his recovery.

India had called up Mayank Agarwal to the squad after the four COVID-19 cases, and later added Ishan Kishan as well as Shahrukh Khan to the team ahead of the first match which India later won by six wickets to go 1-0 up in the series.
