Indian player Deepak Hooda said that it was a dream come true moment for him after he received his India ODI cap from Virat Kohli on his debut.
COVID-19 cases in the Indian camp opened doors for Deepak Hooda to make his ODI debut and did so in the first match against West Indies on Sunday (6th February) in Ahmedabad and received his cap from the former skipper Virat Kohli.
Hooda had a decent outing in his first game for India as he remained unbeaten in the end to take his team home. Chasing the target of 176 runs, the hosts were in a spot of bother after they lost 4 wickets in quick succession of time and found themselves tumbling at 116/4.

Deepak Hooda along with Suryakumar Yadav then steadied the Indian ship and made sure that they take their team home easily. The debutant remained unbeaten on 26 and stitched 62 runs partnership with the latter to help the Rohit Sharma-led side chase the target in 28 overs.
Taking to his official Twitter account, Deepak Hooda said that it was an honor for him to represent his country. He added that to receive his ODI cap from Virat Kohli was a dream come true moment for him.

The second ODI between India and West Indies will take place on 9th February at the same venue.
