IND v SL 2023: Rahul Dravid leaves Team India, flies to Bengaluru due to health issues

Dravid likely to join back in Thiruvananthapuram before third ODI on Jan 15.

Rahul Dravid had recently celebrated his 50th birthday on Jan 11 | TwitterIndia head coach Rahul Dravid, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday, flew to Bengaluru from Kolkata early on Friday morning, while the rest of the Indian cricket team including other support staff members traveled to Thiruvanathapuram. 

India and Sri Lanka will play the third and final ODI of the series there on Sunday and it was reported that Dravid has flown to Bengaluru due to health issues.

He reportedly complained of blood pressure issues during the second ODI on Thursday and was checked by doctors of the Cricket Association of Bengal. However, there were no concerns about his health and he is expected to rejoin the team in Thiruvananthapuram before the third and final ODI match on January 15.

Photos of Dravid boarding the Bengaluru-bound flight looking healthy also went viral on social media. He has flown to his hometown of Bengaluru to get a consultation from his doctors and get some precautionary tests done.

India won the second ODI in Eden Gardens by 4 wickets in a hard-fought encounter with KL Rahul shining with 64* and Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav taking three wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav also scored 10* runs and was given the Player of the Match award.
