Team India registered a comprehensive 91-run victory over Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on Saturday (January 7).
Opting to bat first, the hosts piled up a massive 228/5 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of Suryakumar Yadav’s jaw-dropping 112 not out off 51 balls.
Amid the carnage, Kasun Rajitha returned with decent bowling figures of 1 for 35 in his four overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka’s innings folded for a paltry 137 in 16.4 overs. It was a listless batting display from the visitors as no one managed to cross the 30-run mark. Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka were the joint top scorers with 23-run each.
For India, left-arm pacer Arshdeep (3-20) claimed three wickets in his 2.4 overs while Yuzvendra Chahal (2-30), Hardik Pandya (2-30) and Umran Malik (2-30) picked two scalps each.
With this thumping victory, the Hardik Pandya-led Indian side clinched the three-match T20I series 2-1.
