IND v SL 2023: WATCH – Umran Malik cleans up Rajapaksa and Hasaranga with express pace; returns with 3 scalps in 2nd T20I

Umran Malik once again put on a display of raw pace.

Umran Malik | BCCIIndia’s fast-bowling sensation Umran Malik’s stock is on the rise ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, where he took 22 scalps in 14 games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Thanks to his IPL 15 exploits, Umran earned his India call-up and he has now started to make a mark at the highest level.

In the ongoing second T20I against Sri Lanka at Pune, Malik once again put on a display of raw pace. The 23-year-old dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksa (2) and Wanindu Hasaranga (0) with a couple of ferocious deliveries, shattering the stumps.

His another victim was Charith Asalanka, who was caught at deep mid-wicket for 19-ball 37. Overall, Umran Malik returned with the figures of 3 for 48 in his four overs.

Coming to the match, Sri Lanka piled up 206/6 in their allotted 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from skipper Dasun Shanaka (56* off 22 balls) and Kusal Mendis (52 off 31 balls).
