Virat Kohli on Friday (March 4) added another feather to his illustrious cap as he completed his 100th Test appearance in the series opener against Sri Lanka in Mohali.
Kohli became the 12th Indian cricketer to achieve this feat, joining an elite list featuring Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma.

From a forgettable start to his Test career against the West Indies in 2011, Kohli has come a long way in his decade-long journey, aggregating 7962 runs at an average of 50.39 with 27 centuries in the longest format.
Apart from his exploits with the bat, Virat Kohli also left a mark with his leadership skills. He captained India to 40 wins (most by an Indian skipper) from 68 Tests. Only Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting, and Steve Waugh have won more matches than him as captain in Test cricket.
Under Kohli, who stepped down as Test captain earlier this year, Team India reached the inaugural WTC final, won series in Australia, Sri Lanka (twice), West Indies (twice) and they were leading 2-1 in England last year before the final Test was postponed due to COVID outbreak in the visiting camp.
On his landmark match, Virat Kohli received congratulatory messages and best wishes from the Indian cricket fraternity.
