Team India continued their domination over Sri Lanka in the T20I series as they inflicted a 3-0 whitewash with a convincing six-wicket victory in the final game at Dharamsala on Sunday (February 27).
Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka rode on skipper Dasun Shanaka’s 74 not out off 38 balls (9 fours and 2 sixes) to post a respectable 146/5 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Avesh Khan was the stand-out bowler for India, claiming two wickets by conceding 23 runs in his four overs. Mohammed Siraj (1-22), Harshal Patel (1-29), and Ravi Bishnoi (1-32) also bowled economically and picked up one scalp each.
In reply, the hosts chased down the target with 19 balls to spare. Shreyas Iyer once again starred with the bat, scoring 73 not out off 45 balls (9 fours and 1 six) to guide the team over the line.
Ravindra Jadeja (22*), Deepak Hooda (21), and Sanju Samson (18) ably supported Iyer during the chase.
Cricket fraternity hailed Shreyas Iyer for his stunning knock and lauded the Indian cricket team for their dominating display in the last T20I to register a series sweep.
