IND v SL 2022: Day-night Test in Bengaluru to have 50 percent crowd, confirms KSCA secretary

The second Test between India and Sri Lanka will be only the third pink-ball Test in the country.

The second Test match between India and Sri Lanka will have a 50-percent crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. It will be India’s only third-ever Pink Ball Test at home, which is scheduled from March 12.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) secretary Santosh Menon has confirmed that they had requested the government to allow fans and the board has received permission for a 50 percent crowd due to the COVID-19.

As per Sports Tak, Menon said that they will make all necessary arrangements as per the government direction and protocols for COVID-19. "It's the Pink Ball Test and we are all ready to host it and will leave no stone unturned to make it successfully happen," Menon told Sports Tak.

Tickets will be available online from March 1 on the KSCA website and at the box office from March 6. The ticket price starts from Rs 100 to Rs 2,500. 

The match will be played from 2 PM to 9 PM with the KSCA also mulling inviting school students for the match. "KSCA is happy to inform that a historic Day/Night Test Match played with the Pink Ball will be hosted at M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time from 12-16 March 2022. The Day/Night Test Match will be played every day from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

"The Hospitality Tickets (P-Corporate, Pavilion Terrace and P2 Stand} will not only have the best views of the grounds but will also include assigned seats and complimentary food coupons,” the KSCA said in a statement.

The first Test match in Mohali, which is going to be Virat Kohli's 100th Test, will have no crowd. Bengaluru Test was supposed to be Kohli’s 100th Test but there was a change in the schedule.
