India's senior batter Ajinkya Rahane has been dropped from the Test squad against Sri Lanka. Rahane was going through a rough phase in his career and the sword has been hanging over his head for a while now.
Rahane is not the only one who has been removed from the Test squad. Cheteshwar Pujara has also been dropped, along with wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha and veteran pacer Ishant Sharma.
Ravindra Jadeja, who was away from cricket due to injury, has made a comeback. However, R Ashwin's availability is subject to fitness and will be assessed ahead of the Mohali Test, which starts from March 4.
Twitterati reacted to the decision of BCCI selectors as there was a demand of removing Rahane and Pujara from the Test side from last year. With Saha also out of the squad, KS Bharat has taken over his spot as the backup keeper.
