Indian bowlers received a hammering at the hands of South African batter Rilee Rossouw, who hit his maiden T20I hundred in the third T20I between the two sides which is being played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on October 4, 2022.
India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and revealed that Shreyas Iyer replaced Virat Kohli, while Umesh Yadav came in for KL Rahul. India also brought in Mohammed Siraj in place of Arshdeep Singh, as Rohit revealed that the left-arm pacer had suffered a back injury and was rested.
South Africa brought in Dwaine Pretorius for Anrich Nortje.
After Temba Bavuma was dismissed for 3 runs, Quinton de Kock (68 with 4 sixes and 3 fours) added 89 runs in just 47 balls with Rilee Rossouw for the second wicket. After De Kock was runout going for an impossible second run, young Tristan Stubbs joined Rossouw who was on a rampage.
Taking full advantage of the smaller boundaries and poor Indian bowling, Rossouw added a further 87 runs with Stubbs, who made 23 in 18 balls. Rossouw on the other hand completed his maiden T20I century for Proteas off just 48 balls with 8 sixes and 7 fours to his name and remained unbeaten.
David Miller gave the team the perfect finish, making 19* in 5 balls with 3 sixes as South Africa finished on 227/3 in 20 overs.
The Cricket fraternity was all praises for the Proteas innings, but special adulation was reserved for Rilee Rossouw who celebrated his maiden T20I ton.
