There was a lot of excitement among the fans and cricketers for the fifth and final T20I between India and South Africa, but rain played a spoilsport, leaving them all disappointed on Sunday (June 19).

After a delay of around 45 minutes in the start of the series-deciding match, there could be only 3.3 overs bowled at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday evening, as the match was called off due to continuous heavy rain in Bengaluru, forcing India and South Africa to share the trophy.

Well, after the five-match T20I series ended in a 2-2 draw, former Indian cricketer-turned-analyst Aakash Chopra suggested installing retractable roofs in stadiums to evade such problems in the future.

Chopra wrote on Twitter: “Indian cricket must invest in a couple of stadia with a retractable roof…with the quantum of broadcast monies flowing in, it’s imperative to take the weather out of the equation. As much as you can.”

Meanwhile, the suggestion didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans, as they were highlighting the lack of proper facilities for the spectators at the MA Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Reacting to Chopra's tweet, a user shared a video of water leaking incessantly from the roof and urged BCCI to give fans a better experience at the stadiums first, while another asked the board to revamp the infrastructure.
