Dinesh Karthik made his comeback to the Indian team for the South Africa T20I series and may feature in the XI for the first time since 2019 when Team India faces off agaisnt South Africa in the 1st T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Thursday, June 9.

Karthik was selected to the Indian squad after an outstanding IPL 2022 season with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he excelled as a finisher. Karthik scored 330 runs in 16 matches in the IPL 2022, with an astounding strike rate of 183.33.

Wasim Jaffer, a former India batter who is known for his clever social media tweets, took to Twitter to share a clip from the 1995 film 'Karan Arjun' with his amusing take on Karthik's return to the national side.

The video features Shah Rukh Khan's character in the film chatting to Johnny Lever, saying that he feels like he's seen this location before and that he's worked here before.

"@DineshKarthik returning to the Indian dressing room tonight," Jaffer captioned the tweet, which garnered more than 6,000 'likes' within an hour.

India will be captained by Rishabh Pant after stand-in skipper KL Rahul was ruled out of the series due to a ground injury. Also missing out on the series will be wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who suffered an injury on his right hand while batting in the nets.
