New Zealand bowler Ajaz Patel got verified on Twitter after India off-spinner R Ashwin urged them to verify him. Ashwin tagged Twitter Verified and wrote that Ajaz deserves to be verified after registering his name in the record books.

Ajaz became only the third player in the history of men’s Test cricket to take all 10 wickets in an innings, after Jim Laker in 1956 and Anil Kumble in 1999. He achieved this feat during India's first innings in the final Test at Wankhede Stadium.

"Dear @verified , a ten wicket bag in an innings definitely deserves to be verified here! ???? @AjazP," wrote Ashwin on Twitter. He later thanked the Twitter Verified for accepting his request.

After a 10-wicket haul in the first innings, Ajaz went on to pick four more wickets in the second innings. His bowling figures of 14 for 225 are now the best bowling figures in a Test match against India.

Ajaz also surpassed Sir Richard Hadlee to register the best bowling figures in a Test innings by a New Zealand cricketer. But he couldn't overtake Hadlee's 15 wickets in Brisbane Test in 1985, which remains the most by a New Zealand bowler in a Test match.

Hadlee had taken nine for 52 versus Australia and then 6/71 in the second innings as New Zealand won that match by an innings and 41 runs.
