New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel was felicitated by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and got a special gift from the Indian cricket team for picking up 10 wickets in an innings during the second Test in Mumbai.

The rare feat made Ajaz only the third player in the history of Test match cricket to take all the 10 wickets of opposition in an innings. He joined an elite list featuring former England spinner Jim Laker and ex-India captain Anil Kumble.

While New Zealand suffering a one-sided defeat of 372 runs in the second Test, Patel's 14 wickets in the match was the only praise-worthy performance in the visitors' camp.

The 33-year-old got a signed jersey which was handed over to him by India's veteran spinner Ashwin. He was also felicitated by the MCA for becoming the first bowler to take 14 wickets in a Test at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

The official score sheet of the match was framed and handed over to Ajaz, who gave the signed match ball and his Test shirt for the MCA museum as a return gift.

Ajaz's bowling figures of 14/225 in the Test match is the best by any bowler in a Test match against India. He left behind Sir Ian Botham's 13 for 106 in 1980 at Wankhede.
