Indian opener Mayank Agarwal made it to the Wankhede honours board for his century in the first innings of the second Test match against New Zealand. He slammed 150 runs and helped India post a competitive score of 325 runs.
Mayank's fourth Test hundred was his first 50+ score in 10 innings. The celebration and joy on his face after getting the hundred reflected what it meant for him to play the much-awaited big knock.

The opener carried on the momentum from the first innings and scored a half-century (62) in the second innings to win the Player of the Match award after India won the Mumbai Test.
Ahead of this Test series, Mayank last played a Test for India on the Australia tour and he had to sit out of 10 consecutive Test matches. He had only scored 78 runs in 6 innings during Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, with the highest score of 38 runs.
