New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel on Saturday (December 3) registered his name in the record book by picking up 10 wickets in an innings against India. Ajaz became the third bowler to pick a 10-wicket-haul as he finished with 10/119 from 47.5 overs in the first innings of the second Test.
The Kiwi spinner took four wickets on Day 1 of the Test, and he added another six wickets on Day 2. He joined England off-spinner Jim Laker (1956 against Australia) and India leg-spinner Anil Kumble (1999 against Pakistan) in the elite list.
Mohammed Siraj was the 10th scalp of the innings for Ajaz after the India tailender hit the ball high in the air and was caught at mid-on.
India were all out for 325 runs in the first innings with Mayank Agarwal ending as the top scorer with 150 runs. Akshar Patel also scored his maiden half-century in Test cricket.
