Indian cricket fans are running out of patience as India's stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara failed with the bat once again. They both got out cheaply in the second innings of the ongoing Kanpur Test against New Zealand on Sunday (November 28).

New Zealand came back strongly in the game after conceding a lead of 49 runs in the first innings. They picked up four wickets in the morning session and removed Pujara, Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India were struggling at 51/5 before R Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer put up a partnership of 52 runs for the sixth wicket. Soon after the lunch, Ashwin was also dismissed by Kyle Jamieson on 32 runs.

The Indian fans were not pleased with the consecutive failures of Rahane and Pujara. They questioned their place in the team as both of the Test specialists haven't scored much this year or even the previous year.

Before the Kanpur Test, Rahane has scored only two half-centuries in 10 Test matches this year. Pujara also hasn't been able to pile up runs which is a huge concern for the team.
