India cricketer R Ashwin got a warning for running on the pitch during Day 2's first session of the ongoing Kanpur Test against New Zealand. Kiwi pacer Tim Southee was visibly upset with Ashwin running in the danger area.
Not to forget, Ashwin and Southee were engaged in an on-field spat during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in UAE. This time they didn't go face-to-face for another controversial verbal exchange, but the New Zealand bowler brought Ashwin's action to the notice of the on-field umpire.

The incident happened on the fourth delivery of 93rd over when Ashwin ran out of his crease for a quick single, and his partner Shreyas Iyer sent him back. He got into the crease in time but later picked up an overthrow after the direct hit went towards the backward square leg region.
The umpire was seen having a word with Ashwin for running on the middle of the pitch and Southee wasn't pleased with what happened. The two cricketers did have a word but nothing out of the line and heated.
Ashwin scored 38 runs in the first innings of the opening Test before getting out in the first over of the post-lunch session. He was bowled by New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel after a handy knock.
During the IPL 2021's clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals, Ashwin was involved in a heated exchange with Eoin Morgan and Southee over an extra run.
