New Zealand's Trent Boult won hearts of the fans after the Blackcaps shared a video of the fast bowler hugging the team's bus driver Santhosh in Dubai ahead of their departure for India.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Kiwis after losing the T20 World Cup final to Australia on Sunday, as they take on Rohit Sharma-led India in three T20Is starting on Wednesday in Jaipur.

Boult, who will play the T20Is and then return home to freshen up after a length stay in the bio-bubbles, posed for a selfie and gave a hug to the bus driver who seemed delighted.

Boult, while speaking to New Zealand Cricket said, “I have had time to process the result and yeah, it still hurts a little bit to swallow the result but life goes on. We quickly went back to the hotel, packed our bags and were on a chartered flight to Jaipur to play the series against India.”

The left-arm pacer took 13 wickets in the tournament and finished joint-second with Adam Zampa on the list of highest wicket-takers.

New Zealand will be hoping the seamer can find some energy to lead the pace attack again in India, on pitches that might not be as helpful as the ones in UAE for the faster bowlers. His partner Tim Southee will lead the side in the T20Is with Kane Williamson opting to rest.
