Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra slammed the Australian cricket team’s mindset and questioned whether they actually want to win any games of the ongoing five-match T20I series against India.
The cricket expert also said that the Australians look slightly emotionally drained after winning the World Cup 2023, as they have already lost the first two T20Is of the five-match series against the second-string Indian cricket team.
As the third T20I between India and Australia is set to be played in Guwahati on November 28, Chopra suggested the tourists play like Kangaroos to have any chances of winning the ongoing series.
Quoted by Sportskeeda, Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel: “The Australian team needs to buck up but the big question is - Do they actually want to win? Are they here to win? 'What else you here for' - it reminds me of Kapil paaji (Dev).
It is being heard that some reinforcements are being sent for Australia. They are slightly emotionally drained after winning the World Cup.”
Chopra urged struggling Matthew Short to play Ravi Bishnoi carefully in Guwahati.
He signed off by saying, “I will want to give a suggestion to Matthew Short. Keep your ego aside because Ravi Bishnoi will come and bowl you a googly - you, Ravi Bishnoi, I, our commentary team, the Australian team, the Indian team, and the 25000 spectators in Guwahati know that - so play a little cautiously.”
Notably, India had won the first T20I by 2 wickets and then recorded a 44-run win in second T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia. The third match will be played in Guwahati on November 28.
