Young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan shared his experience of being on the sidelines and the heartbreak of the final in the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The left-handed batter further stressed the significance of staying mentally and physically fresh, even when not getting regular opportunities with the team. Notably, Ishan got only a couple of games in the ODI World Cup 2023 when Shubman Gill was down with dengue.

Well, Ishan is currently playing in the ongoing five-match T20I series against Australia at home and performing exceptionally well. He made 58 runs in the first T20I and then scored 52 runs in the second T20I to help Team India take a 2-0 lead in the ongoing home series against Australia.

Ishan Kishan told JioCinema: “It is all hunger, when you are not a part of a great team. We played like champions at the World Cup. I was feeling bad, but you can't help it.”

He signed off by saying, “In international cricket, times will come when you will not play but at the same time, you will have to be fresh. You will have to make it count when the time comes. When the opportunity comes, you will have to go for it.”

Notably, Ishan will be next seen in action in the third T20I match against Australia on November 28 in Guwahati and he would love to continued his stunning form in the home series.
