Rinku Singh, the rising lower-order batter for India, has opened up about his dream to play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He is currently playing in the T20I series against Australia at home.
With an impressive start to his career in the T20Is, Rinku said that being selected for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 would be a dream come true for him. The KKR start is ready to elevate his performance, saying he is committed to giving his absolute best in any format of the game.
Rinku Singh was quoted as saying by Times of India: “Yes. I am ready. I don't think much about the future. If I get the chance, I will surely grab it and do well. Be it any format or anywhere in the world, if I get the chance I will give my hundred percent.”
The 26-year-old is the only cricketer to play in the IPL, representing India at the highest level in Aligarh, and the left-hander said that it would make him proud if he got selected for the World Cup as well.
Rinku further noted, “It will be a big big thing for me. I am the only male cricketer from Aligarh to play in IPL and India as well. This is a huge thing for me. Every cricketer's dream is to play for India and represent the country in the World Cup. I am also living this dream.”
He signed off by saying, “I don't know how I will react when I see my name in the World Cup squad. But I will wait for that day. I am really working hard towards that goal.”
Notably, the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be jointly hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America (USA) from 4 June to 30 June 2024.
