After India's thrilling victory in the first ODI against Australia in Mohali on September 22, an interesting cricket tidbit made the headlines. According to reports from Cricbuzz, Suryakumar Yadav, one of the standout batters from the first ODI, returned to practice after the match.
It is being said that Suryakumar Yadav and the veteran off-spinning all-rounder R Ashwin both returned to the cricket ground for some post-match practice with the bat in Mohali on Friday, after Team India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the opening match.
During the post-match analysis, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was asked about the significance of such post-match batting practice and whether he himself used to engage in it during his playing days.
The straight response from the legendary cricketer is now making headlines, though the former opener did offer a crucial piece of advice for the talented batter, Suryakumar.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Virender Sehwag told Cricbuzz: “I didn't need to. When you go out there, you put your 100 percent effort. Sometimes, you get out and it's fine. But for me, that was it. I wouldn't practice until the next day. I don't know the reasons why he was knocking after the game.”
Sehwag continued, “But I believed that you prepared for this particular game, you had the chance, you made a mistake and got out. Focus on the mistake, the mindset is more important. The skills won't go anywhere, you don't need practice.”
He signed off by saying, “It's the mindset. What were you thinking when you play that shot, whether it was the right decision or not. The mental tuning is more important. You should've focussed on skills when you had those three ducks in a row. Now that you've scored runs, you have to tune yourself mentally.”
