India batter Suryakumar Yadav showed his quick wit while conversing with former India spinner Murali Kartik ahead of the second T20I against Australia in Nagpur on September 23, 2022. The match has been delayed due to wet outfield and finally, the umpires announced an 8 overs per side game.

Australia leads the series 0-1 thanks to their record chase of 208 runs in the first match in Mohali and will look to close in the series here itself before the third T20I in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Ahead of the match, the commentators caught up with Suryakumar Yadav and Murali Kartik had a few questions for the batter.

He asked him about India’s intentions who are against the T20 world champs and are 0-1 down in the three-match series. He said: "You are up against the World Champions, you are 1-0 down. What's the story?"

In reply, Suryakumar flashed a huge smile and said: “1-1 tonight?”

Kartik replied that: "Good stuff, that's the spirit, go well tonight."

In the pre-match press conference, Suryakumar also talked about his batting and said he prefers the No.4 spot.

He said: "It has been an amazing journey. Wonderful ride till now and am working hard for everything. I have enjoyed batting everywhere but number four is perfect for me. It helps me control the game. I enjoy batting when the pressure is high, I like to bat at 4."
