Things got out of control as fans jostled for tickets for the third T20I between India and Australia which will be played in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on September 25, 2022.
Australia is leading the 3-match T20I series 1-0 after winning the first encounter in Mohali, while the second match will be played in Nagpur on Friday, September 23.
Given that Hyderabad will play host to an international match for the first time after three years. a huge crowd had come to the Gymkhana ground to purchase tickets. A large queue of fans was captured waiting to get their hands on tickets.
But everyone spiraled out of control and a stampede broke out, with excited fans coming in excessive numbers and causing law and order issues. The police personnel present had to resort to lathi-charge in order to get the fans under control and the ensuing ruckus resulted in injuries to four people.
