Cumilla Warriors and Rangpur Rangers faced each other in the second match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Wednesday (December 11).

Opting to bat first, Warriors posted 173/7 in 20 overs on the back of captain Dasun Shanaka’s unbeaten 75 off 31 balls (3 fours and 9 sixes). Soumya Sarkar (26) and Dawid Malan (25) also made vital contributions with the bat.

Sanjit Saha (2/26), Lewis Gregory (2/25) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/37) were among the wickets for Rangers.

In reply, Rangers’ innings folded for just 68 in 10 overs with none of the batsmen touching the 20-run mark. Mohammad Naim was the top-scorer with 17.

For Warriors, Al-Amin Hossain was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 for 14 in his 3 overs. Sunzamul Islam (2/4) and Soumya Sarkar (2/12) also chipped in with a couple of scalps as Warriors started their BPL 2019-20 campaign with a thumping 105-run victory.
