The Global Canada T20 league’s second edition is slated to begin in late July 2019. After the success of the first edition of the first North American T20 cricket league, the organizers of the tournament are banking on the current form of its stars like Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019, to kickstart the second season with a bang.

Both of these players were in their best form during the first edition of the Canada Global T20 league as Russell made 185 runs in 6 innings with 5 not outs and a strike rate of 217.64. Pollard, meanwhile, scored 116 runs in 6 innings at a strike rate of 118.27. These numbers make any team owner proud and such hitting popularized the T20 league with the Canadian audience.

Kieron Pollard recently played a blinder of an innings against Kings XI Punjab, scoring 83 runs in 31 balls, to take his team Mumbai Indians to an unlikely looking win over the visiting team. Andre Russell, on the other hand, has been in devastating form, hitting 30 sixes in just 7 innings. He has also hit 6 scores of over 40 in those innings and has a strike rate of 213.89.

Both Pollard and Russell are big and exciting names in the world of franchise T20 cricket and their T20 careers show the same. In 467 T20 games, Pollard has scored 9667 runs at a strike rate of 150.76 and picked up 261 wickets. His highest score is 104 and best bowling figures are 4/15. Russell, on the other hand, has 4768 runs in 295 T20 matches at a strike rate of 169.01 and 265 wickets.

The Canada T20 Global League is expecting to make a bigger splash in the market and with the current form of Russell and Pollard in the IPL 2019, the upcoming second season of the tournament will be amazing, as the fans of the two Caribbean players will be hoping for them to show similar performance in Canada as well.
