
Ranji Trophy 2017-18 has moved onto its 3rd round after the first two rounds providing some very interesting matches. Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy round three has provided all the results as Railways, Jharkhand and Punjab registered big wins.

Railways completely annihilated Assam, bowling them out for just 55 runs. Anureet Singh took 5/28 to add to his 3 wickets in the first innings, giving Railways the match by an innings and 184 runs.

JHARKHAND v HARYANA
Ishan Kishan’s 46* gave Jharkhand a 10 wicket win over Haryana. Shahbaz Nadeem was the hero of the match, taking 8 wickets including 6/93 and scoring a valuable 70 down the order.

ANDHRA v ODISHA
The match between Andhra and Odisha ended in a draw, with Andhra taking the first innings lead. Bhargav Bhatt took 4 wickets in each innings, to add to the triple hundred by captain Hanuma Vihari. Biplab Samantray scored 62 in Odisha’s 2nd innings.

MUMBAI v TAMIL NADU
Shreyas Iyer smacked a 124 ball 138 and Akhil Herwadkar scored 132 to take Mumbai to 371/5d in hopes of getting a result out of the game. But the game resulted in a draw with TN taking valuable 1st innings lead.

GOA v PUNJAB
Jiwanjot Singh’s 238 and 7 wickets in the match by Raghu Sharma proved to be enough for Punjab to win the match against Goa by an innings and 133 runs. Darshan Misal scored 64* in hopes of delaying the inevitable for Goa.

SERVICES v HIMACHAL
Himachal’s GK Singh took 6/52 and 4/58 in the match to beat Services by 97 runs. Ravi Chauhan scored 97 to give Services some hope in the chase, GK Singh proved to be too much for Services.

VIDARBHA v CHHATTISGARH
75 from CG batsman Jatin Saxena kept dangerous looking Vidarbha bowlers at bay, as the match ended in a draw with CG ending at 195/9 by the end of the day. AN Khare made a name for himself with a double hundred (210), while Ashutosh Singh made 113 and Faiz Fazal made 125 in the match.

UTTAR PRADESH v MAHARASHTRA
Uttar Pradesh fell 31 runs short of their target despite a valiant 122 from Rinku Singh and 79 from Akshdeep Nath. Maharashtra’s CG Khurana took 6/131 to add to his 1st innings haul of 6/53 to make it 12 wickets in the match.

KARNATAKA v HYDERABAD

B Sandeep’s 80 and Ashish Reddy’s 57* went to waste as Hyderabad fell short by 59 runs. Karnataka’s Shreyas Gopal took 4/91 to add to his 1st innings haul of 5/17 to win the match for his team. Karun Nair 134, was the only centurion of the match.
