Muttiah Muralitharan was undoubtedly one of the greatest Test Match bowlers in the history of cricket. The former Sri Lankan cricketer has 800 wickets in Tests and 534 wickets in ODIs, both world records for most wickets in either format.
In 2005, Murali married Chennai born Madhimalar
Ramamurthy. Recently the couple attended the first Test at Galle between India
and Sri Lanka where Mrs. Murali said that she always remained neutral when its
India vs Sri Lanka. India dominated Sri Lankan team and won the match by a huge
margin of 304 runs that too within 4 days.
Madhimalar said, "I love India and Sri
Lanka, and I am equally proud and happy to see them (India) win." She
also revealed about their 10 years old having keen interest in cricket and is
also an ardent Sri Lankan team supporter.
"Our son 10-year-old Naren is a huge Sri Lankan
fan. He follows all matches and is very passionate about cricket," said Madhimalar.

Initially Mrs. Murali did not have any interest in cricket but later towards the end of Murali's career this changed. Murali played his last Test in 2010 against India. The couple have completed 12 years of marriage and along with Naren they also have a daughter who is now 5 years old.
Post-Retirement Murali:
The 45 years old off-spinner is enjoying his post retirement period as a mentor or spin consultant in various Twenty-20 leagues.
In 2016 he was the bowling coach of IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Even
in the on-going TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League) Murali plays the role of a mentor
for Thiruvallur Veerans.
Muralitharan is doing well in his mentor-ship and
coaching career as he was successful in his 18 years old career as a cricketer.
Even though he was into controversies about his unusual bowling action, he
still remains the highest wicket taker with 800 wickets and 534 wickets respectively in Tests
and ODIs.
