AB de Villiers eyes Australia's Big Bash League stint

After ruling in the World’s No.1 T20 franchise tournament -Indian Premier League (IPL), AB de Villiers, legendary South Africa batsman, has now expressed his desire to get the taste of the Bash League (BBL), as Mr. 360 is reportedly aiming to play in the upcoming edition of Australia’s domestic T20 event.

According to the official website of Cricket Australia, cricket.com.au, the swashbuckling Proteas batsman is looking for a BBL club in the back half of next summer's tournament and even his management approached a number of franchises in the League.

It is also being said that the number of BBL franchisees have shown their interest in the 360-degree batsman and if the Proteas great finalize a deal, De Villiers, who has an overall IPL strike rate over 150, could be the biggest marquee signing for the BBL. 

Meanwhile, Melbourne Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell has already said that his eye has always been on the batting legend, adding: "De Villiers is someone I have really looked up to. He is true entertainment." 

At the moment, the 35-year-old is representing his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, where he has been in sublime form with the bat having amassed 307 runs so far in the tournament.

De Villiers retired from international cricket in April last year after representing South Africa in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is in which he amassed 8765, 9577 and 1672 runs, respectively.
