On Tuesday, July 7, MS Dhoni was present at the third T20I of the current five-match series between India and England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Fans surrounded the renowned wicketkeeper after he caused a commotion outside the stadium.

Dhoni watched the third T20I from the stands to celebrate his 45th birthday. When he left the event, he was besieged by admirers. As the former India captain approached his car, escorted by security guards, people were ecstatic to see him and followed him.

On social media, another video from Dhoni's stadium visit went viral. The seasoned wicketkeeper was shown in the video indicating to spectators that he had grown older.

Dhoni is still a member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), despite having retired from international cricket in August 2020. He was supposed to play in the 2026 season, but a calf injury kept him out.

Meanwhile, India's batting collapsed while pursuing a challenging 202-run goal, resulting in a humiliating loss to England. After winning the toss, Shreyas Iyer decided to field first.

Phil Salt led the England innings with a brilliant 70 in 44 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported by Jos Buttler (38), and then Sam Curran hammered 41* runs in 24 balls with 4 fours as England posted 201/7 in 20 overs.

In the face of some superb bowling from England pacers Josh Tongue and Jofra Archer, the Indian batting collapsed.  The remaining batters failed to reach double digits, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan scoring 13 apiece, and Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel scoring 10.

As India was bowled out for 76 runs and lost a T20I by more than 100 runs for the first time, Jofra Archer with 3/29 and Josh Tongue with 4/28 were England's primary destroyers. India's highest T20I defeat was by 125 runs.

The fourth T20I is scheduled to be held in Bristol on Thursday, July 9.
