Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 14 runs off 10 balls on his international debut for India against England during the second T20I at Old Trafford on Saturday (July 4).

The teenage prodigy showed a glimpse of his explosive talent before his brief innings came to an end. Sooryavanshi struck his first international six against Jofra Archer, sweeping the ball into the stands. He went down on one knee and used the full face of the bat to hit the speedster over fine leg.

Later, the southpaw smashed right-arm pacer Josh Tongue over deep midwicket to collect his second maximum.

Sooryavanshi fell in the fourth over of India’s innings. He was stumped while attempting to charge down the track and take on Will Jacks.

At 15 years and 99 days, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi comfortably broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 36-year-old record to become India's youngest debutant in men’s cricket. Tendulkar had made his national debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days.

Struggling for runs in the ongoing tour of UK, Sanju Samson made way for Sooryavanshi, who received his maiden India cap from the team’s vice-captain Tilak Varma.
