Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was handed his debut India cap ahead of the second T20I against England at Old Trafford on Saturday (July 4).
At 15 years and 99 days, the southpaw comfortably broke the Sachin Tendulkar’s 36-year-old record to become India's youngest debutant in men's cricket. Tendulkar had made his national debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days.
Struggling for runs in the ongoing tour of UK, Sanju Samson made way for Sooryavanshi, who received his debut India cap from the team’s vice-captain Tilak Varma.
After earning his senior cap, the young prodigy looked elated as he was congratulated by his Indian teammates.
