Former India cricketer and current Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting coach Dinesh Karthik has given a valuable piece of advice to young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of the second T20I between England and India. This game is to be played on July 4, 2026, in Manchester.

The youthful player was just chosen to play for India in the T20I series against Ireland and England. Sooryavanshi hasn't yet been able to break into the Indian starting lineup, though.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, needs to improve his ability to handle challenges both on and off the field, according to Dinesh Karthik.

Karthik lauded Sooryavanshi's ability to easily access every part of the ground while keeping a terrific speed, calling him the most entertaining cricket player in the world right now.

"His ability to strike around the ground with the tempo he does it at, while not being fazed by whoever his opponent is, makes him special. Like everybody in life, I am sure he'll face issues with batting and things that happen off the field. He needs to learn to deal with it better,” Karthik said on Sky Cricket.

Sooryavanshi broke into the Indian T20I squad thanks to his 776 runs in IPL 2026 for Rajasthan Royals (RR), single-handedly taking the team into the playoffs. He also hit a record 72 sixes, breaking Chris Gayle’s record for most sixes in a single IPL season.

He hammered one century and five fifties, including three scores in the 90s. He hammered 97 and 96 in RR's two playoff games against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT).

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was counseled by Dinesh Karthik to deal with outside noise in a positive way during his potentially long cricket career. Considering the 15-year-old's early career, the Tamil Nadu ex-cricketer predicted that he would shatter the majority of T20 records.

"At this moment, most of the things are rosy. Sky is the limit, and he can be an extraordinary T20 batter. There is no reason why he can't break any record that's out there. My one piece of advice would be to learn to deal with a lot of the noise off the field in a very healthy manner because that's going to be his biggest challenge," said Karthik.

Despite playing in just two seasons, Sooryavanshi already has a number of noteworthy IPL records, including the fastest and second-fastest hundreds by an Indian batter off 35 and 36 deliveries, respectively.
