Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra on Wednesday (20th July) reacted to the video of right-handed Rishabh Pant. He said the keeper batter is the left-handed version of MS Dhoni.

In his short career so far, Pant has done many special things for India. It’s fair to say that his era has started and is the most dependable middle-order batter for India these days.

One of his special innings, which was also his best ODI innings, came recently in the third game against England. With series on the line, India needed something special from someone and it was none other than Pant who stood up and took his team past the finishing line.

Chasing 260 to win, the visitors were reduced to 72/4 and not many would’ve thought that they would win the game easily. But all thanks to Pant, who made a mockery of English bowlers and registered his maiden ODI ton.

At first, the 24-year-old played according to the situation and anchored the innings, which allowed Hardik Pandya (71) to play freely and together they shared a mammoth 133-run partnership. Pant scored unbeaten 125 runs with the help of 16 fours, 6 of which came in the last 7 balls of the match, and 2 sixes.

Following his knock, many fans and pundits lauded him for being cool under pressure and taking his team home. One of the Twitter users flipped the highlights of Pant’s innings in Manchester and made him look like a right-hander.

Here’s the video:

The right-handed version of Rishabh Pant had a glimpse of Dhoni and even made Chopra say that the southpaw’s similarities with the former Indian skipper are uncanny.

“Ufff…Rishabh Pant is left-handed Dhoni. Similarities are uncanny,” Aakash Chopra tweeted.
