The Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, has been a big help for the bowlers many times, and he was yet again helpful for the star leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, during the third and final ODI against England at Old Trafford on Sunday (July 17).
Pant is known to be a constant chatterbox behind the stumps, and he was at his chirpy best when Team India needed one wicket to dismiss England, who eventually succumbed for 259 in the series-deciding ODI.
Chahal bowled a googly to Reece Topley, and the England pacer played down the wrong line and was dismissed for a golden duck. After the wicket, Chahal was seen smiling at Pant, as the Indian wicket-keeper’s input helped him get his third wicket of the match at Old Trafford.
The stump mic caught the Indian wicketkeeper telling Chahal, "Dande pe daal yahi ball thoda peeche aur rakhna," and the star leg-spinner followed his instruction to finish the match with figures of 3/60 in 9.5 overs as India bowled out England for 259 in the series-deciding ODI.
Later, India successfully chased down the total on the back of a stunning century from Rishabh Pant (125*) and a brilliant fifty from Hardik Pandya (71) — who also snared four wickets to win the match by five wickets and clinch the series by a 2-1 margin.
