India continued their winning run in the shortest format on their tour of United Kingdom (UK) as the Rohit Sharma-led side beat Jos Buttler's England by 49 runs in the 2nd T20I at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 9) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
England opted to bowl first and the decision seemed to be correct when India lost 5/40 after a brisk 49-run start by Rohit Sharma (31) and Rishabh Pant (26) to be struggling at 89/5 before Ravindra Jadeja (46*) ensured the visitors got to a competitive score of 170/8 in their 20 overs. Debutant Richard Gleeson (3/15) and Chris Jordan (4/27) were the best of the England bowlers.
India's bowlers then did the rest as they bundled out England for 121 in 17 overs with only Moeen Ali (36) and David Willey (33*) putting up a reasonable fight from the hosts. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/15), Jasprit Bumrah (2/10) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/10) were brilliant with the ball for India as they clinched the series with another big win. The last game will be played on Sunday.

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was also in attendance at the ground in Birmingham, as he is currently holidaying in England. Recently he celebrated his 41st birthday on July 7 in London, with Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj being part of the celebrations. The legendary cricketer was also seen at the Wimbledon Tennis Championship.
After the victory, Pant shared a picture with his idol along with couple of pictures from the match, and wrote “Double wins. Looking forward to the next one”.
BCCI also shared few pictures of 'Captain Cool' sharing some insights with young wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan in the Indian dressing room, as they captioned the post, “Always all ears when the great @msdhoni talks! ???? ???? #TeamIndia | #ENGvIND”.
