Virat Kohli’s poor run of form continued in international cricket as he got out for just 1 in the ongoing second T20I against England at Edgbaston.
The veteran batter made a comeback to the side after being rested for the first T20I but he could not leave a mark.
After skipper Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in the 5th over for 31, Kohli arrived to bat at No. 3 but could last just three balls.
During the 7th over India’s innings bowled by Richard Gleeson, Virat tried to hit one into the stands in the leg-side. However, the ball took the outside edge of his bat and ballooned into the sky before a diving catch was completed by Dawid Malan.
Virat Kohli’s yet another failure in the shortest format once again raised a question over his place in India’s T20I team.
Notably, Kohli returned to the XI by replacing Deepak Hooda, who was in the form of his life after slamming a century and a fifty in Ireland last month and scoring a quickfire 33 in the first T20I against England.
A section of cricket fans on Twitter vented out their frustration over Kohli’s repeated failures and also questioned his place in the team.
