England cricket team supporters- Barmy Army got into a war of words with the Indian team supporters- Bharat Army after India lost the fifth Test against England at Edgbaston on July 5 thanks to amazing centuries from Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root’s fourth innings effort to hunt down 378 runs.
The English fan group is known for its blunt remarks on the opposition. This time they majorly focused on the verbal spat between Bairstow and Virat Kohli to take shots at the visitors. In fact, they changed their handle’s name to ‘Jonny Bairstow’s Barmy Army’.
The Barmy Army shared a picture of dejected Kohli after Bairstow got his second hundred in the game. They used a laughing emoji to caption the image.
They also trolled the Bharat Army by sharing a video of them singing “England get battered everywhere they go”. The English fan group shared it with the caption, “Imagine singing this the whole game and losing”.
Furthermore, they took a jibe a Virat Kohli by sharing a stat that, “Bairstow has scored more runs in the last 25 days than Kohli has in the last 18 months.”
This proved to be enough for Bharat Army to respond back in kind and they began by sharing a photo of the latest World Test Championship table to highlight that England is reeling at the bottom half; third-last followed by New Zealand and Bangladesh.
