ENG v IND 2022: Wasim Jaffer asks Michael Vaughan to check the scoreline while correcting a typo after England win

England defeated India in 5th Test by 7 wickets, chasing down a record 378 runs, drawing series 2-2.

The five-Test series between England and India ended in a 2-2 draw | GettyFormer India opener Wasim Jaffer got better of his online nemesis former England captain Michael Vaughan, despite the English cricketer’s attempt at taking a dig after the hosts defeated India in the rescheduled fifth Test match at Edgbaston on July 5.

Team India lost a Test, that many believed they should have won. The Indian unit led by Jasprit Bumrah dictated the show for most parts of the match at Edgbaston, but then Jonny Bairstow hit twin centuries in the match, first saving England a lot of blushes in the first innings and then in the second, helping fellow centurion Joe Root chase down a record 378-run target at breakneck speed.

After the match ended, Vaughan and Jaffer took chances at each other to get better of one another on Twitter.

Soon after the match was over Vaughan as usual took a poke against Jaffer and wrote: “Just checking are ok @WasimJaffer14”.

Jaffer is not known for taking jibes laying down and came back with an amazing retort. First, he corrected a typo in Vaughan’s tweet and then reminded him of the scoreline, which stood at 2-2.

In all the excitement You forgot to write 'you' Check the scoreline It's only 2-2,” Jaffer replied.

Following the conclusion of the red-ball contest, the action now shifts to limited-overs with the 1st T20I scheduled to be played on July 7 at Hampshire. Rohit Sharma will be back in action, while some senior players who were part of this Test match, will become available from the second T20I onwards, to be played on July 9.
