The Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s love affair with England in Tests continued, after having already smashed a stunning century in the first innings and he scored a half-century in the second innings of the ongoing rescheduled fifth and final Test.
Pant played a remarkable knock of 146 runs when India needed it most in the first innings and then played another brilliant knock of 57 runs on day four to help Team India take a more than 330-run lead against England in the ongoing rescheduled Test at Edgbaston.
After his century, former England captain Michael Vaughan compared Pant with England’s in-form batter Jonny Bairstow, for which he had faced severe criticism on social media.
On day three of the final Test, Bairstow smashed a much-needed hundred for England, and Jaffer made the most of the opportunity to remind Vaughan of his mistake by saying the English batter did silly things on Sunday at Edgbaston.
Now, Vaughan got his medicine from his social media rival, Wasim Jaffer, for comparing Pant with Bairstow.
Sharing a picture of Bairstow on Twitter, Wasim Jaffer wrote: “This is great viewing! Jonny Bairstow doing a Rishabh Pant ???????? #ENGvIND”
Notably, India managed to cross the 200-run mark in the second innings, riding on brilliant fifties from Cheteshwar Pujara and Pant against England. The touring side is currently leading by 330 runs with four wickets in hand in the ongoing rescheduled Test against England.
