ENG v IND 2022: Kohli fans slam Virender Sehwag for saying ‘Chammiya naach rhi hai’ on air as Virat Kohli seen dancing

Kohli was seen dancing to celebrate a England wicket, while Sehwag had a foot in mouth moment.

Sehwag used a derogatory term to describe Kohli's manner of celebration | TwitterVirender Sehwag is known for his tongue-in-cheek comments on social media and while doing commentary, but his latest gaffe has landed him in some controversy as he seemingly offended a legion of Virat Kohli fans after calling him something offensive on air.

Sehwag, who never shies away from speaking his mind, showcased his sarcastic humor on the commentary mic when the Virat Kohli-starrer Team India gained an upper hand on Day 3 of the rescheduled Test match against Ben Stokes-led England at Edgbaston.

Indian bowlers were at the top of the England side as Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and captain Jasprit Bumrah kept the home side to 284 runs in reply to India’s 416 in the first innings, giving the visitors a 132-run lead.

The incident involving Sehwag happened when a joyous Virat Kohli was caught on camera doing some dance moves to celebrate yet another wicket from the England side. During his Hindi commentary stint, Sehwag was asked to drop a comment on Kohli's dance moves by his fellow commentator.

However, the term Sehwag used to describe Kohli’s dance, didn’t sit well with Kohli fans who admonished him on social media. “Chammiya naach rhi hai,” was what Sehwag said as the visuals showed Kohli dancing.
