The Indian team defeated Northamptonshire in the second warm-up T20 tie in County ground, Northamptonshire on July 3, 2022. India had won their first match as well, against Derbyshire a couple of days ago.
These matches are in preparation for the three-match T20I series between England and India which begins on July 7.
Dinesh Karthik once again captained the Indian side and was asked to bat as Northants captain Jos Cobb won the toss. India lost Sanju Samson for a duck on the first ball of the match and Rahul Tripathi followed for 7 runs, Ishan Kishan looked good, but his innings ended on 16 runs.

After Suryakumar Yadav also got out for a duck, Dinesh Karthik (34), Venkatesh Iyer (20) and Harshal Patel did some rebuilding. Harshal impressed this time with the willow, making 54 in 36 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes to his name, as India finished on 149/8 in 20 overs.
Brandon Glover picked 3/33, while Nathan Buck and Freddie Heldreich picked 2 wickets apiece.
In response, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh continuously picked wickets not letting the opposition batters settle down in the chase. Saif Zaib was the top scorer for Northamptonshire.

Emilio Gay made 22, while three other batters got into double figures, but non managed to make a big score or stay at the crease long. Yuzvendra Chahal picked 2/25, while Arshdeep Singh and Avesh also picked two wickets each, while Prasidh Krishna and Venkatesh Iyer got one wicket apiece as well.
Harshal Patel shined with the ball, picking two wickets, apart from his half-century. India won the match by 10 runs
