Jasprit Bumrah is currently leading the Indian cricket team in the absence of Rohit Sharma after the regular skipper was ruled out of the ongoing rescheduled fifth and final Test against England due to COVID-19.
Well, Bumrah delivered a brilliant performance with the bat, amassing 31* off 16 balls to help India post 416 runs in their first innings against England in Birmingham.
The stand-in skipper hit four fours and two sixes to amass 29 runs off an over against Stuart Broad, whose over costed England for a total of 35 runs in all with six extras. Notably, Bumrah is leading India for the first time in Test cricket, but he doesn't have any leadership experience.
Bumrah has also taken the first three England wickets to fall in their first innings.
Meanwhile, before the start of England’s first innings at Edgbaston, a video is making the rounds on social media where Virat Kohli is seen giving a pep talk to the Indian players in a huddle on Saturday, July 2.
When Kohli was speaking with the Indian team on Saturday, the moment brought back memories of 2021 when he was the captain on the England tour.
